#31 Up the Mast

This addition to the list was an impromptu event and truly what "Living live Abundantly" has become about. My friends and I went out sailing on Sodus Bay one beautiful Sunday afternoon and my girlfriend's husband said, "anyone want to go up the mast when we are done?".......Soooo, of course, I said "I'll do it".

Now, this happened 2 weeks after spraining my ankle, but this did not stop me! So with the help of the guys , yhey strapped my butt in the little swing, I gripped with my thighs and good leg and pulled with my arms until I reached the top as the men hoisted me up! (they really did all the work).

I thought I would be a bit scared, but I wasn't. It was great! The view from the 60 foot mast out onto the bay was really neat.

Then, those funny guys....they strapped up all the lines and walked away leaving me clinging to the tops of the mast as I just giggled KNOWING that they were not REALLY gonna leave me hanging but it was funny none the less.

I think the best part about the whole thing was how unique of a task it was and how spontaneous it was. I like things planed out, and for me to do something truly spontaneous and a little daring was exhilarating!
